Cancellations and refunds
What happens to an offer, and to your money, at each step of buying a machine.
Your deposit, and before you pay the balance
You secure a package with a deposit, Air Laundry’s buyer fee, paid by card or from your bank account. Your card is charged when you pay. It is not held as an authorization. A bank debit is submitted then and settles when the bank clears. The deposit is charged on top of the price and is not a credit toward it. You then sign the agreements and wire the balance within five business days of your deposit.
If you do not come up with the balance — the offer lapses after it is ready to pay, or you withdraw — Air Laundry keeps the deposit. If a pre-sale store does not close or open, the deposit is refunded. If Air Laundry or the host calls the deal off, or the offer lapses while it waits for Air Laundry or the host to approve it, the deposit is refunded. If you and the host cancel after you have wired, the deposit is not refunded.
After you pay, while AirLaundry holds the money
AirLaundry holds your payment in escrow for up to ten business days before passing it to the seller. During that time the sale can be cancelled only if you and the seller both agree.
If it is, you are refunded your payment. AirLaundry’s fee on your side of the sale, which you paid as your deposit, is not refunded. (If you paid the fee with your down payment instead, it is kept out of the refund.) The seller is charged nothing, and the machine goes back on sale.
Pre-sales: buying at a store that has not opened yet
A pre-sale is different from buying at an open store. The store is not open on AirLaundry yet, and the pre-sale lasts up to 60 days. For all of that time your payment is held: none of it goes to the seller while the store is not open, and your machines earn nothing until it does.
Further notice will be sent by email when the store opens, or if it won’t. If the store does not open, you are refunded everything you paid, AirLaundry’s fee included, and the sale is cancelled.
After the money has been passed to the seller
The sale is complete and cannot be cancelled here. The spot lease and operating agreements set out how either side may end them, including any fee for ending the spot lease early.
AirLaundry’s role
AirLaundry, operated by Ownership Code LLC, provides the platform the sale is made on and holds payments in escrow. It is not the seller, does not own the machines, and does not lend. The seller — and, if you finance, the lender — is the store’s host.
